Wesley Craven
Wes Craven has become synonymous with genre bending and innovative horror, challenging audiences with his bold visions since the release of his first feature film, The Last House of the Left, which he wrote, directed, and edited in 1972. Craven reinvented the youth horror genre again in 1984 with the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street, a film he wrote and directed.

Carol J. Clover is an American professor of film studies and rhetoric language. She has been widely published in her areas of expertise. Her 1992 book Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film achieved popularity beyond academia, and she is credited with developing the "final girl" theory, within the book, which changed both popular and academic conceptions of gender in horror films.
